A 3D printed metal skeleton cast in solid sterling, with inlays of ebony, bloodwood, ethically sourced giraffe bone, and lepidolite, complete with a rounded profile and magnetic clasp.
Could ancient artistry meet 21st century technology? Would 3D printing complement or compete with the handmade ethic of my work? To find out, I set about using the latest technology to create a post-modern cradle for the ancient art form of inlay. The result—an intricate, 3D printed metal skeleton, cast in solid sterling and decorated with inlays of precious metals, rare woods, lepidolite, and slivers of bone.
Atlas Bangles have a rounded profile and a secure, but easy to use magnetic clasp. They are available in three different sizes, small, medium, and large. The large bangle is of substantial impact and weight. In the words of a longstanding client; “This is a three to four-hour bangle – anything longer would be a workout!”
