Silver Kraal
A combination of handcrafted beads made from 18-carat yellow gold, larimar, bone, bloodwood, ebony, and fine silver.

Kraal, an Afrikaans and Dutch word meaning an enclosure, or to enclose. The word dates back to a time when beads were still a global medium of expression and exchange, valued for qualities such as colour, shine, or rarity. Beads remind me that people of different ages, places, and cultures hold the same things dear, even when the world seems characterized by schisms and sudden change.
Like the beads of old, the beads that go into a kraal necklace are made by hand, one at a time. Each necklace is a collaborative effort between myself, a master stone cutter, and an enamellist. Together we painstakingly shape, cut, fire, inlay and string each bead.
The Silver Kraal is a combination of handcrafted beads made from 18-carat yellow gold, larimar, bone, bloodwood, ebony, and fine silver. It has a comfortable weight and a magnetic closure for easy use.
