Tahitian Pearl Pendant
Strung on a rose gold necklace, a 15-point diamond and two Tahitian pearls—one brown, the other gold—punctuate a row of 5-point white diamonds on an 18-carat rose gold pendant.

I knew about French Polynesia long before I knew about romantic destinations or Tahitian pearls, thanks to Hugh Lofting’s children’s book, The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle. Since deciding to become a jeweller, rather than a vet, I’ve grown particularly fond of South Sea pearls with their range of natural colours from creamy white to aubergine, gold, and even a deep raven black. The soft lustre of the two pearls complements the crisp brilliance of the 5-point diamonds in this pendant made less formal by the quirky setting of the 15-point diamond and the rose gold necklace.
